I would like to welcome the 46th Defender LE/MC chapter to the family. The 1st Louisiana chapter opened on November 5th in Alexandria Louisiana. We have 74 members and associates in attendance to welcome our new brothers and sisters into the family.

The opening was held on the banks of the Red River. The weather could not have been better at 70 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. We patched in 7 members, 8 probates and 6 associates. The chapter will be led by "Ice" who has assembled a great group of men and women for this chapter.

The opening was attended by members and associates from Naples, Panama City, 1st Alabama, Dixie Thunder and Diamond Lakes. Needless to say the college football rivalries were hot and heavy,,,,,BUT... LSU pulled out the win over Alabama the night of the opening.

The 1st Louisiana chapter put on a great weekend with super food (Gumbo, Alligator etc..) and we made some life long friendships. They will be a perfect fit for our club and I look forward to seeing them again very soon.

Please send your welcomes to Ice at roberttwo1955@yahoo.com

Gentlemen, please join me in welcoming our new chapter, Jersey Central, our 47th chapter, that opened this weekend. This chapter is made up of members from South Jersey one and two plus four new members. We patched in 13 members (Including probates) and their associates. One of the cool thing I like seeing is that this chapter is truly a family, with two sets of Fathers, Mothers and Sons combinations, and a set of brothers and sisters-n-laws. Jersey Central President Flip and his crew did a heck of a job and made everyone feel welcome as soon as we arrived at the hotel Friday. On Saturday with the weather being in the mid 40's, I with 44 bikes and around 82 members went on a ride that ended up at the famous "Apple Festival".  We spent several hours eating and enjoying ourselves and eventually made it back to the hotel, where the evening festivities began at 1800 hours.

With great food, drinks, cigars and conversation, we also had a DJ that kept everyone dancing up until the end.  I do want to say that Coach from Central Maine chapter did his thing on the dance floor.  We didn't know he had it in him but the boy got moves.  We laughed and hugged all weekend and the entire event was a huge success.

I like to thank the following chapters and their Presidents for making this event be one of the best: RI Original, Down East Maine, Central Maine, Connecticut 1, 1st Penn, South Jersey 1 and South Jersey 2. Since Flip is an original member his e-mail is already on the list.  Please welcome our new chapter Jersey Central to the family.

I would like to thank everyone involved in the preparation and planning of the 2011 Defenders Law Enforcement National Party. This party took almost a year to plan and hosted over 550 members and associates from 44 chapters. I would like to thank Tank, Hitman and Tank (Smoky Mt) for the time and dedication to making this a HUGE success. I was expecting some problems that came with hosting such a large gathering, but the weekend went off without a hitch. The food, rides, parties and hotels worked out perfectly. We had hundreds of members and associates that participated in several rides over the 4 day event. These rides took us through the mountains of Tennessee and North Carolina. I am very happy to report that not one rider went down over the weekend. One of the rides took a group of 75 bikes through the "Dragon" with 318 curves in 11 miles. The pace was slow and everyone enjoyed the view and experience.

The National ride on Saturday went to Maggie Valley, NC. The potential for issues bringing 238 motorcycles over the mountain is huge. The members who participated in escorting the ride did a phenomenal job. We ended up with over 300 members and associates that participated in the ride.

The National dinner was held in the convention center located in the heart of Gatlinburg. We walked into a enormous room that was set up like an awards ceremony. This was definitely 1st class and everyone enjoyed great food and fellowship.

I spoke with several members and associates that had never been to a large DMC gathering. The comments were the same in every conversation. They told me that everyone they met seemed like a lost family member that they reunited with. They were all touched by the brotherhood that this club possesses. This is a testament to the quality members and associates that we have in this club. We have over 1,100 members and associates at this time. The reputation that we have as a club is due to the actions that you take every day you put on our colors. I could not be more proud to be a Defender and part of this great family.

I would like to thank Tank (Tennessee Valley), Ms. Kitty and JuJu for the countless hours that they put into this party. I would also like to thank all the Majors, Road Guards and others that made each ride enjoyable and safe for our brothers and sisters to ride. The associates that spent countless hours assisting with the pizza and preparation of this event. I would also like to recognize and thank the Gatlinburg PD for bending over backwards to shut down roads and allow us to drive hundreds of bikes through town with very little issue.

The next National Party will be held in Missouri in August 2012. This event will be held on the Lake of the Ozarks and hosted by a local resort. This will be an event to bring your entire family to. Members will have access to pools, horses, boats, jet ski's, golf and some great motorcycle riding.

I would like to thank all the Defenders who attended the rally in Gatlinburg.
