R.I.P. my D.M.C. Brother
John “Taz” LaFoy was born
November 10th, 1949. He was a
veteran of the United States Army and served in the 82nd
Airborne Special Forces division during the Vietnam War.
Taz was a charter member
of the Upstate, SC chapter and received his colors
during the chapter ceremony in September 2010. Taz
also served as a Road Guard for the chapter and was
the Chapter's Santa Clause for the first annual
“Fill Santa’s Saddlebags” in December 2010. Taz was
a very active member and was instrumental in making
the Upstate, SC chapter what it is today.
On
March 13th, 2011 Taz succumbed to injuries
sustained when his motorcycle was struck by a pickup
truck a mile from home. Taz was in full colors at the
time of the accident. On this day the
Lord called Taz home where he now rides with his eternal
DMC brothers in heaven.
Taz left behind a loving
family, (two sons and a daughter) and his beautiful
wife Charlotte ("Red") whom he loved dearly and who
remains an associate member of the Upstate SC
chapter.
